To everyone who will listen with an open heart,
Please:
Always take time to educate yourself about the refugee crisis, experience and challenges faced by refugees in Korea. Educating yourself on their stories, backgrounds and reasons behind their displacement can deepen your empathy and cultivate a more nuanced approach based on personal understanding, not stats or media portrayals.
Spread awareness about the refugee crisis by sharing informative and credible articles, videos and resources on social media platforms or online forums. Use your voice to advocate for refugees rights, overcome misconceptions, and foster a more inclusive and empathetic community dialog.
Extend a warm welcome! Welcoming refugees is a demonstration of our shared humanity and commitment to upholding the values of compassion, empathy and inclusion. It means providing a refuge to those who have been forcibly displaced by persecution, violence and hardships. By doing so, you not only offer them a chance to rebuild their lives but also enrich entire communities with their unique experiences, talents and perspectives.
Be kinder. We request your kindness to refugees. Because we refugees are innocent. We need homes, jobs, and education, especially for our children, because education is light. Without education our future is lost and we cannot grow up to make the world better from what we've learned, or to take care of our families. Giving is not just about making a donation, but it is about making a difference. And we kindly request the government to give some special support to refugee children with disabilities.
Racism has always existed and a big part of it is people just not knowing others. I think humans change other humans' minds, and it would be hard for someone in the middle of Korea to hate refugees once they let a refugee become their friend. Have this in mind: we may have different religions, different cultures, different languages, different colored skins but we all belong to one human race. Our souls have the same color.
Thank you for listening, and God bless,
“Annie”.
마음을 열고 들어주시는 모든 분들께,
